Yiwu is located 100 km south of the city of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province. The area, as in most of the Province of Zhejiang, is in a mountainous region. It has a subtropical monsoon climate. The city has a sunny and pleasant weather throughout the year and enjoys all four distinctive seasons and bright sunshine. Summer is hot and winter is usually cold. The temperature of the Yiwu weather has the average 17.2 °C and average humidity is 76% while the annual precipitation is 1100~1600 mm. July has highest temperatures averaged at 29.3°C and January has the lowest average of 4.2°C.

The best time to visit Yiwu is during spring and fall. Yiwu China also organizes an international commodity fair in the months of April and October.
